Privacy policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
This policy covers Studyframe version 0.4.9 for Android, iPhone, iPad and supported web browsers, and the Babson Student Tools website. Studyframe is published by Vernon Nathaniel Babson. Contact Nate.planner.support@gmail.com for privacy questions or app support.
1. Local study information
Studyframe stores information you enter or select: profile and program labels, exams and deadlines, study availability, tasks and instructions, class and personal commitments, schedule, completion history, notes, assessment results, resource references, study recipes and appearance preferences. The browser version uses browser storage; the native app uses device preferences for the plan. Where available, a separate local IndexedDB file library stores original imported documents and photos, their extracted searchable text and file references. These materials are not automatically uploaded to the publisher.
Studyframe does not encrypt local planner data, original files or exported backups itself. Device, browser and operating-system protections apply. Someone with access to an unlocked device or readable backup may see its contents. Avoid entering passwords, patient records or sensitive information that is unnecessary for study planning.
2. Documents, photos and text recognition
Selected PDF, Word, text, Markdown, CSV, JSON and calendar files are processed on your device. You review extracted lessons, locations, dates and commitments before adding them to the planner. A website link alone does not let Studyframe read a website; you can choose to paste text or import an authorized copy.
Taking a photo opens your device's camera; your device or browser may require permission. Choosing existing photos uses the photos you select. Studyframe does not automatically read your entire photo library. Optional photo text recognition uses bundled English OCR on your device. Photos and extracted page text are not sent to an OCR or AI service. You can correct the text and select items before saving them. Original files or photos may contain metadata, which may remain when you choose to export those originals.
Check recognized text and suggested resource matches against your course materials, especially handwriting, tables, dates and page numbers. Matches use your saved details or locally extracted text; they do not guarantee that a particular edition, video or source covers the intended topic.
3. Optional book searches and external services
Studyframe prepares book-search links on your device using the ISBN, title and optional author you enter or review from a photo. Preparing links does not make a catalog API request, download search results or load remote cover images. Studyframe does not embed a provider's search results or book contents. The planner works without book searches.
Opening a book-search link, saved resource, YouTube topic search, AI assistant or school login takes you to a separate provider website in your browser. Only when you choose to open the link does that website receive the link's search details and ordinary connection information, such as your IP address. Your photo, full document, extracted page text and planner are not attached to a book-search link. The provider's policies apply; Studyframe does not control external retention, cookies, accounts or deletion. Book-search providers include Open Library and other reading sources. Open Library is an Internet Archive service; see the Internet Archive terms and privacy information. Check the title, edition, access conditions and permissions on the provider's website before importing material you are allowed to use.
Saved Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Brightspace and study-account shortcuts do not connect accounts. Direct school authorization is not configured in this version. You can import selected official course files and calendar exports. Calendars are snapshots, not synchronized accounts. Studyframe does not automatically fetch question-bank activity, Anki activity, YouTube watch history or transcripts, and does not collect those services' passwords or API keys.
4. Optional AI handoff
You can prepare a planning brief for a separate service such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Grok. All saved-data categories start unselected. An exact preview shows what will be copied or downloaded; selected categories may include availability, exam goals, resource units, protected commitments and completed progress.
Studyframe does not send briefs or files to an AI provider, connect AI conversations or make AI API requests. You choose what to paste or upload on the provider's website. Its privacy, account and age requirements apply. Returned JSON suggestions require your review before entering your saved planner.
5. Exports, backups and device transfer
Readable JSON backups contain planner data and extracted resource units, but exclude original files and full searchable indexes. Optional workspace ZIP transfers also include the original files and extracted text you select. Calendar exports can contain task titles, source details, instructions and times; if selected, they include class, work, family and other commitment titles and times.
Exports are not encrypted by Studyframe. You choose where to save or share them. Native exports may be prepared in the app's cache before the operating system's share sheet opens; cached copies can remain until cleared by the app or operating system. Chosen destinations, including cloud drives, email services and calendar apps, have their own security and retention practices.
Restoring a backup or workspace replaces the destination plan after confirmation. It does not continuously sync devices or merge independent edits. Your operating system may separately include app data in its backups or device transfers according to your settings. Studyframe does not operate those services.
6. Reminders, permissions and connections
Native reminders are optional, scheduled on your device after notification permission, and can be disabled in Settings or device controls. There is no developer-operated push-notification server. Camera and file access support the capture or import action you choose.
Book-search links use HTTPS, and Android cleartext traffic is disabled. The app does not perform a remote catalog lookup. External websites, sharing destinations and backup services have their own encryption practices. A secure network connection does not encrypt local planner data or exported files.
7. Hosting, support and stores
The public website and browser planner use Cloudflare Pages. Loading pages creates network requests. Cloudflare may process technical information, such as IP address, requested address, browser or device information and connection details, to deliver and secure the site. Its handling and retention follow Cloudflare's privacy policy. The business pages have no mailing-list form, account login, advertising tracker, analytics script or external font request. Opening the website does not automatically upload the plan saved in your browser.
If you email support, the publisher and Google Gmail receive your address, message and attachments. These are used to answer the request, investigate the issue and maintain necessary support records. Correspondence is retained while needed for those purposes or applicable legal obligations. Email the same support address to request deletion; records may be retained when legally required. Send only information needed to explain the issue. See Google's privacy policy for its practices.
Apple and Google operate app distribution, testing and store-managed payments. Their services may provide the publisher with test feedback, diagnostic information, purchase reports or other information under their policies and your settings. Studyframe itself has no advertising or analytics SDK, no in-app purchases in this version, and does not receive full payment-card details. See Apple's privacy information and Google's privacy policy.
8. Removing information
Local data remains until edited, replaced, cleared or removed, or until the browser or device removes its storage. Removing a resource from the planner does not erase its previously generated tasks or separately stored original file.
- Browser: clear the Studyframe site's data through browser controls to remove its local plan and file library.
- Android: clear Studyframe app data through device app-storage controls, or uninstall the app.
- iPhone or iPad: delete the app to remove local app data; offloading may preserve data.
- Separate copies: delete exported files, imported calendar entries and operating-system backups at their saved destinations. A device restore or reinstall may restore earlier data depending on your settings.
Export work you want to keep before clearing data. The publisher cannot remotely retrieve or erase a local planner. Contact support for requests about correspondence held by the publisher. Use the relevant provider's process for external-service data.
9. Students and parent-managed plans
Direct users are students aged 13 or older and adults. Parents or guardians can use their own device to manage lessons and schedules for children under 13, including homeschool materials. Studyframe is not intended for children under 13 to use independently or create an account. This version has no app account system.
Parent-managed learning information stays in the parent's local planner unless the parent chooses an export or external action. Use a nickname where a full name is unnecessary, supervise resource selection, and avoid unnecessary identifying child information in optional book searches, AI briefs or support messages. External services have their own age and consent requirements.
10. Changes and contact
This policy describes the current version. If a later version changes data handling, we will update this policy and required store disclosures before releasing that behavior. The effective date identifies the policy version.
